Money Expert – a leading price comparison website commissioned us to research how consumers behaved when managing their car insurance, and their awareness of the market.
The brief
Money Expert is a leading price comparison website and wanted to research how people renewed their car insurance. They asked us to help design the survey, collect the data, and present the findings in a press release.
The research
We conducted an online survey of 600 people in the UK who had renewed their car insurance in the last 6 months.
Respondents collected are representative of UK demographics for age and gender.
The results
Key finding:
29% of Drivers Lose Money by Letting Their Car Insurance Auto-Renew
Other findings
The results of our survey show that customers who let their car insurance auto-renew pay more for their cover than those who don’t.
Slightly more than two in five drivers who auto-re-newed did so for convenience’s sake, believing that switching to a new policy or provider was not worth the hassle. This trend of leaving well enough alone was seen throughout the behaviour of those who let their car insurance auto-renew, going hand in hand with general disengagement.
The outcome
Promoting the findings
We helped create the press release with the findings of the survey and supported the PR strategy.
The survey was picked up by the Sun, Mirror, Express, and Independent.
